As a pastoral couple with almost five decades of combined ministry experience, we have been honored to walk alongside and serve across boundaries, generations and lives. Our journey has led us through building mission programs, leading outreach efforts, supporting growing families, raising children, and navigating the unique challenges of ministry leadership.
We deeply understand what it means to feel God’s call, the sacrifice required to follow it, and the unshakable faithfulness of God in every step of the journey. Out of that lived experience, Compass Care Ministries was born.

Pastoral Care and Leadership
Chris Reny
For more than 35 years, Chris Reny has dedicated his life to ministry, beginning with three decades in youth ministry across Baptist, Methodist, and Presbyterian churches before finding a home in the non-denominational community. His journey eventually led him into congregational care, where he discovered his true “sweet spot”—being present with people, walking alongside them in both everyday life and life’s most pivotal moments.
That heart for presence and shepherding eventually led Chris into the role of Senior Pastor. In Fort Lauderdale, Florida, God faithfully used him to build a landmark church into a thriving hub for outreach, worship, fellowship, and flourishing faith. Under his leadership, the church grew not only in size but also in depth of community and spiritual life.
Of all his roles, Chris is most at home when he is among people. Whether guiding a couple through their vows, baptizing a new believer, offering a steady hand in times of challenge, or simply doing ministry in the aisles of the grocery store, he lives out his calling in both the big and small moments.
Chris' life reflects a simple truth: ministry happens wherever God places you, and every encounter is an opportunity to share Christ’s love.
Discipleship, Outreach and Families
Marie Reny
Marie Reny has spent her ministry life investing in people across generations with a deep passion for teaching, shepherding, and equipping others to live out their faith. With decades of experience in children’s, youth, and family ministry, Marie has led in settings ranging from Sunday school classrooms to large-scale retreats, from community outreach programs to international mission trips, from pastoral counseling to mentoring future ministry leaders.
Her heart for pastoral care shines in her ability to walk with families in all seasons—celebrating milestones, navigating challenges, and discovering God’s faithfulness together. Alongside her work in local church leadership, Marie has created and led countless resources, lessons, and ministry programs designed to make the truth of Scripture accessible and life-giving to every age group.
Marie thrives in the spaces where faith meets real life. Whether helping children see God’s love in simple truths, encouraging teens to find hope in Christ, supporting parents in the trenches of raising families, or guiding leaders through the unique challenges of ministry, she is devoted to reflecting the love, grace, and mercy that has shaped her own journey.
Together with her husband, Chris, Marie co-leads Compass Care Ministries, offering care, guidance, and encouragement to families, students, adults, and leaders who are following God’s call.
